What Happens During Anti-Bullying Week?

Anti-Bullying Week (ABW) is organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) and this year it takes place from 11th to 15th November 2024. The theme for this year is ‘Choose Respect’ and the aim is to encourage people to respect themselves and others. This means we should respect other people’s points of view and allow others to express themselves in different ways.

Choose Respect

There are a number of ways we can choose respect and they include:

  • When speaking to someone, listen attentively, don’t interrupt and show an interest in what they say.
  • Allow people to have opinions that are not the same as yours. We are all individuals.
  • Do not gossip and do not listen to gossip about others.
  • Strive to be polite in all communications and demonstrate respect for others in all areas of life.

Remember, everyone has their own beliefs and experiences which are worthy of respect. If we all strive to choose respect, it will help to reduce bullying behaviour and attitudes.
